August 2014 – Trip Update
August 10:
Group went to Tay Ninh, Wayne visited Sister Thao to discuss what they were in need of.
August 11:
Group visited Cu Chi Tunnels, Wayne met with Australian Consul General.
August 12:
Group left for Vung Tau
August 13:
Group R & C Day. Wayne went to visit the 3 Orphanages for supply order and to Ba Ria Markets to order supplies.
August 14:
Group toured Ba Ria/Vung Tau Province, (Former Phuoc Tuy Province) Wayne went to Ba Ria for meeting with Mr.Phong and Peoples Committee.
August 15:
Delivered Supplies to the Buddhist Orphanage.
August 16:
Delivered Supplies to Ba Ria Orphanage while Mr.Sy (Eye Doctor) tested everyone’s eyes including staff.
August 17:
Everyone to Ba Ria to deliver 200 meal packs for the Impoverished Peoples Families.
August 18:
Group went to Long Tan for Reflection of the Battle of Long Tan. Visited Cemetery to pay respect.
Visit to Catholic Orphanage to deliver supplies (Sister Kim spoke about bus again). Evening meal with Mr.Phong and Peoples Committee.
August 20:
Group tour of Vung Tau. Visit to Bia Tuoi.
August 23:
Wayne & Anh had meeting at Pharmacy to discuss the opportunity to build a Volunteer Medical Team to visit the Orphanages.
Also discussed was the opportunity to get a Dentist on board to help
August 27:
Group visit to Bien Trieu Developement Centre to deliver supplies. Sister Thao had a quote on the roof over the wash area and funds were allocated to proceed with paying for the roof out of our “Operation Compassion Fund”
August 29: Returned to Australia.
